(this program is used in some court systems to satisfy the divorce class requirement. Check with your court, however, to see if this is accepted for your court requirement).

Program by Susan Boyan, M.Ed., L.M.F.T., and Ann Marie Termini, Ed.S., L.P.C.

The class, for separated, divorcing, and divorced parents, offers five steps to prevent divorce abuse—a specific type

of emotional abuse that divorcing parents cause when, in their anger and bitterness, they lose sight of their child’s needs.

Crossroads of Parenting & Divorce is a class lasting 4 hours that uses enlightening video scenes to demonstrate

common co-parenting challenges and solutions.

 Here's what you'll be learning

In just one session (4 hours), you will learn:

Step 1: Keep your child out of the middle. 

Step 2: Allow your child to love both parents.

Step 3: Work on your own recovery. 

Step 4: Develop new communication skills.

Step 5: Create a positive new relationship as co-parents.

CHILDREN'S DIVORCE CLASS:

 $50 one class (Possible discount for more than one child)

Pre-registration and payment is required
Class is limited due to number of children.  If the class is closed, you will be put in the next class available.
Program:  one time class: therapists explain to the children about divorce at their developmental level and help them with questions. 

VISITATION MONITORING PROGRAM:
$40.00 an hour
Visitation is supervised throughout the hour 
Pre-registration and payment required
This program is for parents who have supervised visitation

PARENTING CLASSES:

 Over the course of six sessions, you'll learn non-violent discipline techniques plus effective communication and encouragement skills to build a solid foundation for the upcoming teen years.

Ages:  5-12 years old

Session 1:  The Active Parent

Session 2:  Cooperation & Communication

Session 3:  Responsibility & Discipline

Session 4:  Building Courage & Self-Esteem

Session 5:  Understanding & Redirecting Misbehavior

Session 6:  Active Parenting for School Success

• $300 total for 6 consecutive weeks. Has to be paid 2 weeks prior to class starting. 
  • $450 if paid weekly, however, $75 is due a week before class starts.
• Pre-registration and payment is required

ADVANCED PARENTING CLASS:

(GROUP OR INDIVIDUAL CLASSES OFFERED)

• $200 total for 4 consecutive week. Has to be paid 2 weeks prior to class starting.
  • $300 if paid weekly, however, $75 is due a week in advance
• Pre-registration and payment required
• Program:  Parents learn how to deal with more difficult behaviors. The structure and focus of each class can change depending on the needs of the parents.

PARENTING AFTER DIVORCE CLASS:

• $200 total for 4 consecutive week. Has to be paid 2 weeks prior to class starting.
  • $300 if paid weekly, however, $75 is due a week in advance

• Pre-registration and payment required
• Program: Helping the divorced parent deal with issues that can arise from being divorced.  This program is best utilized within the first year of the divorce. Cognitive skills, coping skills and behavioral techniques will be discussed along with other skills. Parents fatigue from the divorce will also be addressed.   

NON-TRADITIONAL AND STEP-PARENTING CLASS:

Session I: Stepfamily Living
– Emotional baggage
– Adjusting expectations
– 5 Guidelines for Active Stepparents

 Session II: Turning Differences into Opportunities
– Dealing with differences
– Avoiding loyalty conflicts
– Establishing limits (of time, space, authority, money)

Session III: Encouraging Step family Success
– Discipline in a step family
– The power of encouragement

• $200 total for 4 consecutive week. Has to be paid 2 weeks prior to class starting.
  • $300 if paid weekly, however, $75 is due a week in advance                                                                
• Pre-registration and payment required 

• Program:  Helping non-traditional caregivers 

COUPLE ENHANCEMENT CLASS:

• $400 total for 8 week. Has to be paid 2 weeks prior to class starting.
  • $600 if paid weekly, however, $75 is due a week in advance
• Preregistration and payment is required
• Program:  Helping couples to find themselves again and to give them techniques to help them rekindle their relationship

SUPPORT GROUPS:

 
The support groups are billed to the insurance if it applies. However, there is no other cost to the participant. Any other questions please call.
